
They go on to say that this more fast-paced approach matches Wo Long perfectly, as it's a game based on Chinese martial arts. Yasuda states that players will be "confronted by a multitude of situations in which you need to react immediately," whether you're playing aggressively, or choosing one of the many ways to evade enemy attacks. Unlike Nioh, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will have no stamina gauge so players are encouraged to move around as much as possible, as seen in the trailer's various combat sequences.

Yasuda began by celebrating the fact that due to setting the game in China, as opposed to Japan with Nioh, they were able to create areas of a much larger scale, adding that vertical exploration is much more of a factor here due to the main character's jumping ability. Many comparisons were made to one of Team Ninja's more recent titles, their beloved duology, Nioh. Following the trailer, the producers Fumihiko Yasuda and Masaaki Yamagiwa sat down with IGN to further explain what can be seen.

The trailer had quite a few appealing aspects, with its fast-paced combat and striking creature design, it garnered even more excitement for the upcoming title.


Out of the innumerable number of trailers showcased at the 4-day long Gamescom 2022 conference, one of the standouts was the first gameplay reveal of Team Ninja's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
